What do you get when you mix Collagerie’s eye for colour with Zara Home’s relaxed mood? Homeware that is as characterful as it is considered. Following a successful debut in 2024, Zara Home x Collagerie returns today, the 17th of July, with ‘A Common Thread’, a new collection exuding playfulness and polished warmth.
Founded by Lucinda Chambers and Serena Hood, former British Vogue fashion director and executive fashion director, respectively, Collagerie has built a reputation for impeccable taste, which it applies to creating shoppable online edits of fashion, homeware, books and gifts. This second collection with high street favourite Zara Home reflects the evolution of a creative relationship and a shared love of artistry. “It was wonderful to go a bit bolder, a little brighter and slightly more challenging,” says Chambers, who co-designed the pieces. “To get to know a company, you gain confidence and can push the boundaries a little — and that I find very exciting.”
From elegant blue-green carafes that evoke a perfect sun-drenched day in a coastal Mediterranean town to charming folk-art inspired cushions in earthy colours, the new collection feels like an ode to the transition from summer to autumn. In highlighting a shared love of the artistic, the collection has collaborated with multidisciplinary artist Kavel Rafferty. When Collagerie launched their curated online gallery The Art Shop, Kavel was one of the 15 inaugural artists. Known for her collage and assemblage work, and admired by Chambers for her “intelligent and modern” use of colour and form, Kavel’s joyful floral pattern appears in the collection as three striking wall hangings and a sumptuous reversible wool blanket.
Other pieces include a table lamp, a woven chair and accompanying footstool. There's a sense of play also running throughout the collection—embodied in pieces like the gloriously quirky napkin rings which look like a work of sculptural art, and the oversized serving tray. “Supersize to me spells generosity!” Chambers says. “These are beautifully sized to make whatever you want look brilliant with largesse — whether that’s with flowers or food.”
The collection is designed to work as a whole, but not in an overly coordinated way. “Everything fits together beautifully and happily, but one thing alone can still make a difference to our living spaces.”
From striking ceramics to luxurious textures and bold colour palettes, this is a collection made for joyful living.
